We are seeking a results-driven Director of Business Development to enhance our insurance clientβs portfolio of successful Private Equity sponsors. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead innovative sales and marketing initiatives designed to fuel business growth while collaborating closely with the M&A Transactions team to deliver exceptional service and value.
As the Director of Business Development, you will play a vital role in driving revenue by forging strong relationships with Private Equity firms in the lower middle to middle market. The ideal candidate will possess a proven sales track record, a strategic mindset, and the ability to implement innovative business initiatives effectively.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorβs degree in business or a related field; Masterβs degree is highly preferred.
10+ years of sales experience in insurance or private equity sectors, consistently exceeding quotas.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.
Proven ability to manage high-value sales cycles effectively.
Proficient in CRM and sales analytics tools, ideally Salesforce.
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft 365, especially Word and Excel.
Willingness to travel 50% - 75%.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison for Private Equity firms, nurturing strategic partnerships to drive sales and revenue growth.
Analyze industry trends in insurance and employee benefits to inform and shape business strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams on M&A due diligence, ensuring alignment and maximizing value.
Lead strategic sales initiatives, including impactful presentations and negotiations, successfully closing high-value contracts with C-suite executives.
Identify and pursue sales leads within the private equity sector by leveraging extensive networks.
Stay informed about market conditions to effectively position services and capitalize on opportunities.
Mentor and guide the sales team, enhancing their performance through recruitment, training, and compensation strategies.
Oversee marketing initiatives to boost brand visibility and drive growth.
Implement effective sales operations strategies, including CRM enhancements and new account management processes.
