The Opportunity:

Job Summary

  • Ensures that Revenue Cycle goals, objectives, and vision are achieved. Working with the senior leadership, develops short and long range plans with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures and identifies growth opportunities.

  • Direct oversight of daily operations including management of managers, supervisors, and coders.

  • Integral in the development, implementation, and maintenance of efficient processes, coding compliance plan, and coding education for Ensemble and Clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrates Ensemble’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with Revenue Cycle Leaders and Clinical Leaders across the organization.

  • Works collaborative with the Coding leadership to develop business plans, short and long term goals, along with measurable targets designed to improve efficiency, quality of care, clinical documentation, timeliness, productivity, service excellence and appropriate reimbursement for services. Disseminate progress towards goals to coding leadership and coders.

  • Stays abreast of industry coding issues and changes that will impact coding and charging patterns.

  • Serves as subject matter expert for the organization on the coding/charging functions as applicable.

  • Ensures all coding and abstracting of health records meet established standards of accuracy, timeliness, quality, and productivity.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in using payer and coding specific web sites to maintain up to date coding knowledge including new changes to coding compliance and reimbursement.

  • Must be able to effectively integrate changes into Ensemble through communication, charge router and coding/charge review edits.

  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly identify incorrect coding and compliance trends; to analyze, investigate suspected problems to determine root cause and resolution.

  • Manages staffing resources including training and performance management.

  • Demonstrates the ability to independently research and accurately resolve insurance denials in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in working the Epic billing system; includes accurate charge entry.
