We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team. You will oversee all eCaring’s engineering department, drive innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of projects and product updates.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of cloud hosted web and mobile software systems.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure successful development and launch of features. 

  • Mobilize team around the execution of the engineering technology strategy to achieve strategic objectives with clearly defined and measured outcomes. 

  • Develop and execute a product platform strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives and our overall product roadmap, with a focus on cloud-native solutions. 

  • Prioritize features and enhancements that drive value for customers using input from cross-functional leaders. 

  • Work directly with the software development teams to ensure accurate coding of applications, assigning tasks and balancing workloads to ensure deadlines are met.  

  • Achieve superior solutions that will result in positive business outcomes including increased speed of delivery, improved quality/security of code, and optimized flow. 

  • Implement and Manage DevOps and SDLC best practices. 

  • Provide hands-on-development work to drive key deliverables as needed.

  • Experience leading engineering teams at a B2B SaaS platform company that has had proven success in scaling from $start-up to 10M. 

  • 5+ years of people management experience including leading directors and managers in a product organization. 

  • 5+ years hands-on software development experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions. 

  • Proven experience overseeing core technology products, including user management, authentication, authorization, search, file systems, UX frameworks, data storage and encryption, public APIs, and developer tools. 

  • Experience creating and maintaining MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server or PostgresSQL databases.  

  • Exposure to cloud providers including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.  

  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages including PHP, JavaScript, Typescript, and HTML.  

  • Knowledge of system frameworks including Laravel and Vue.js or React. 

  • Proven track record of successfully bringing products to market, from conception to launch, with a sharp focus on meeting customer needs and capitalizing on market trends. 

  • In-depth understanding of technology landscapes and emerging trends, ensuring our products remain at the forefront of innovation. 

  • Exceptional leadership skills, capable of motivating and empowering teams to achieve peak performance. 

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adept at managing multiple priorities effectively, and championing change and innovation within the organization. 

  • Startup experience is a plus, as is experience in the home/healthcare industry. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must remain in stationary position for extended periods of time at desk or computer. 

  • Requires occasional standing, sitting, walking; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; hearing; talking.
