What Accounting does at Worldwide Clinical Trials
The Finance Team supports a wide array of business teams in overseeing and enhancing the financial landscape.Β The finance team provides a comprehensive approach to financial management, strategic planning, and fostering collaborative relationships across various departments.Β
The Director, Revenue Accounting is accountable for establishing, implementing, and executing revenue accounting policies, processes, and controls across Worldwide Clinical Trials. This position ensures that the company develops, implements, and maintains the requisite global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen the companyβs revenue recognition practices in accordance with ASC 606 under US GAAP. The individual will be responsible for executing and managing revenue recognition and reporting within a global footprint across multiple business units within NetSuite, Certinia, and other applications as necessary. This individual will collaborate with business stakeholders globally to include operations, commercial business development, operations finance, and other members of finance and the broader organization.
What you will do
Responsible for managing all aspects of revenue recognition for the consolidated entity, to include revenue recognition policies, processes, and controls.
Supports business partners on operational and financial issues relating to revenue recognition, including contract terms and values, determination of performance obligations, calculation of percent complete, and estimates for expected costs to complete and accruals.
Delivers reporting, information, analytics, and recommendations to address complex topics impacting revenue recognition.
Ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place and maintained for revenue accounting. Implement remediations to address any identified deficiencies.
Lead and manage a high performing team, ensuring high levels of motivation, engagement, and performance.
What you will bring to the role
Experience within a professional services business and working in a global organization.
Able to thrive in a fast paced and evolving organization.
Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments.
Strong financial modeling ability.
Your Experience
Bachelorβs degree in accounting. Masterβs degree in accounting strongly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with focus on revenue recognition. Prior experience within the CRO or pharmaceutical sectors preferred.
ASC 606 implementation and/or responsibility for execution.
CPA preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor.
Some global travel may be required.
