We are looking for a Data Team Manager to join the EverCommerce Payments Solutions team to focus on Reporting and Data Nalysis for our Payment solutions. The EverCommerce Payment Solutions organization is focused on delivering unparalleled value to our customers through frictionless embedded payments and commerce solutions at scale. As a the team leader of the Payments Data Team you will play a key role in prioritizing the delivery of data and insights to accelerate decision making across the organization.
We are seeking a Data Team Manager to lead our data team responsible analyzing, and delivering valuable insights from payments data across the EverCommerce eco-system. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building, managing, and coaching data teams, understanding payment processing, and delivering actionable insights to the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to analyze payment and merchant utilization data, driving actionable insights that improve revenue, reduce costs, and optimize take rate.
- Act as a player-coach, providing technical expertise in payment data analysis while empowering the team to deliver insights that directly impact the payments organizationβs financial performance.
- Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategic goals into data-driven initiatives that improve merchant utilization, optimize pricing strategies, and increase revenue.
- Implement and advance analytical tools and methodologies to improve the teamβs ability to uncover trends in payment data and merchant behavior, identifying opportunities for growth and cost reduction.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of payment data analysis and reporting, focusing on insights that optimize take rate and reduce inefficiencies in transaction processing.
- Drive innovation in payments analytics, guiding the team to use predictive modeling, trend analysis, and merchant segmentation to improve revenue forecasting and cost control.
- Foster continuous improvement in the teamβs ability to analyze payment data and recommend actionable insights that enhance revenue and profitability.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of data-driven strategies, focusing on revenue growth, cost reduction, and take rate optimization.
- Collaborate across departments, ensuring the insights provided support revenue-driving and cost-optimization initiatives in the payments organization.
- Present data-driven insights to senior leadership, focusing on clear, actionable recommendations that enhance merchant performance and optimize take rate.
- Ensure best practices for payment data analysis, reporting, and forecasting, driving improvements in the businessβs ability to predict revenue outcomes and control costs.
- Cultivate a culture of data-driven optimization, encouraging the team to adopt new tools and methodologies that drive continuous improvement in revenue, cost efficiency, and take rate.
Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:
- 8 to 12 years of experience in relevant fields such as data analytics, data engineering, or data science, with a focus on payments or financial services.
- 3 to 5 years of leadership or management experience, where they've led data teams and worked cross-functionally to drive business outcomes through data insights.Payment industry experience at card brands or payment processors.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or related field. Masterβs or higher is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of payment processing, transaction data, and merchant utilization patterns.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning to optimize revenue and take rates.
- Ability to design and manage scalable data pipelines for reliable and efficient data flow.
- Experience with tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau to deliver real-time insights through dashboards and reports.
- Strong capabilities in querying large datasets and performing advanced analytics using SQL and Python or R.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for data storage and analytics.
- Expertise in developing revenue forecasting models based on payment data trends.
- Experience coaching and developing high-performing data teams with a focus on results and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively across departments, ensuring data insights are aligned with business strategies.
- Capable of translating complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset for identifying patterns, solving problems, and optimizing revenue through data-driven decision-making.
- Data Governance and Quality Management β Proven ability to implement data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
- Preferred but not required, a Masterβs in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a data or technology focus would be highly advantageous.
- Preferred but not required, certifications in Data Engineering, Data Science, or Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer).
Where: This is a remote, US based position, some travel required for quarterly events and on-site partner meetings. The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada β if youβre close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely.Β Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The target base compensation for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 USD per year in most US locations.Β Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
