Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager to be responsible for overseeing internal and external financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards and accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders. Reporting to the controller, this position may manage one or more accounting staff, and collaborates closely with members of the finance leadership team.

What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

    • Manage financial reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
    • Develop and support implementation of accounting policies designed to promote compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure adequate documentation of policies and controls for key corporate accounting areas such as fixed assets, equity incentive plans, insurance plans, leases, joint ventures, intercompany and consolidation.
    • Stay current on GAAP developments and assist in evaluating their financial impact, research accounting treatment for new transactions, and work with auditors to ensure appropriate accounting treatments.
    • Oversee the development of schedules for audits, including the financial statement and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) overhead rate audits. Respond to audit inquiries. Review audit reports and schedules for accuracy of financial disclosures.
    • Collaborate with the controller and accounting manager to ensure effectiveness of and compliance with internal controls over financial reporting. Monitor compliance, advise on control design, and recommend improvements.
    • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual bank compliance reporting and related documentation.
    • Provide insights based on financial modeling and analysis to support decision-making.
    • Promote effective communication across finance functions to improve reporting efficiency.

What will you need to succeed?

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
    • 6 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
    • Public accounting experience and CPA license strongly preferred.
    • 2 years of supervisory experience
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting procedures and functional understanding of internal controls.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments with numerous deadlines.
    • Ability to work flexible and extended schedules during period and year-end closing, annual audits, and other times of increased workload.
    • Prior experience in the professional services industry a plus.
$105,895 - $196,662 a year
Pay:
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.

Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:
Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the role’s organizational level, and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings.
