Medical Director/Geriatrician/PCP
Role: Medical Director/Geriatrician, Edenbridge PACE at Skyland
Location: Washington DC, Wards 7 and 8
Status: Full-time or part-time, both in person and hybrid available
Mission:Β To allow frail elderly people to age in the location of their choosing and continue to lead
connected, meaningful lives
Role in Brief:
This is a role that can be part-time or full-time, depending on candidate preferences. There is also the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement, with at least 3 days/week at our Health Center in Washington DC.
This physician leadership role offers a unique opportunity to help lead the first PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program in the District of Columbia within the framework of a supportive, innovative, and expert leadership team and company.Β Together with our coalition of strong partners within the community, the Interim Medical Director/Physician will help lead Edenbridge PACE at Skyland to have a transformative impact on a particularly under-served community. The Physician will have the opportunity for an adjunct academic faculty appointment at a local leading university in Washington DC, if desired.
Edenbridge PACE at Skyland is aiming to be the partner of choice for District seniors and their families living in Wards 7 and 8 to allow them to live dignified, meaningful lives and to remain in their own homes for as long as they desire.Β Six core principles drive our approach to care. These include:Β Β
-
We prioritize autonomy: Β Frail seniors deserve the dignity of respect for their choices, large or small, with personalized care plans that align with their values and desires.
-
We value lives meaningfully lived: Β We focus not just on the number of days people are alive, but on the number of days they are glad to be alive. We strive to provide more of what matters.
-
We support de-medicalization:Β We recognize that too much medical care is no better than too little, and that medicine is the easy answer, not always the right answer.Β Β
-
We plant deep roots in the community:Β We partner with those who know and are invested in their communities, bringing our expertise and leveraging their knowledge, services, and support.
-
We employ technology thoughtfully: Β Technology can enhance what we do for patients, families, and care teamsβbut it can never replace the human element.
-
We focus on positive variance:Β We aim to recognize, understand, and replicate a personβs best days, rather than simply reacting to their worst.
To help us achieve this mission, we are looking for an experienced physician who will apply PACE fundamentals to our innovative care approach, and lead the PACE clinical program, offering the opportunity to work autonomously but with the support from expert PACE operators, geriatricians and project managers.
Β
