Apogee is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to support the Army Analytics Group (AAG). We are looking for someone willing to learn and grow.
AAG is a Joint Operation that provides primary support to the Army and secondary support to DOD components. It maintains an integrated Cloud infrastructure consisting of development, testing, training, user acceptance, production, and other types of environments. Operations contract support is required to provide services for enterprise information technology operations and maintenance support.
The environment hosts numerous types of applications, which are broad in scope and can cover all Uniformed Services, all components of the Total Force (Active, Guard, Reserve, and Civilian), and Federal and critical DOD operations throughout the world. The applications supported include domains such as logistical, financial, personnel, organizational, and analytical domains.

What you will be doing:
- Configuring Linux and Unix machines in a on-premises and cloud environment
- Conducting capacity planning and resource management for SANs and NetApp
- Supporting a variety of software stacks for production applications
- Using Ansible and other orchestration tools to optimize deployments
- Developing tool kits to make administration easier
- Using Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) applications and implementation in an enterprise environment
- Assisting in security and patch management of Red Hat Linux systems utilizing Red Hat Satellite infrastructure management tools
- Collaborating with developers and project managers to stand-up applications
Minimum Requirements
Citizenship: US Citizenship required
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a minimum interim Secret level clearance or higher
Education: HS Diploma
Years of Experience: 16 years of experience in:
- Experience in Bash scripting or Equivalent Scripting Language (Python, PowerShell)
- Database configuration and management experience (Postgres, MySQL preferred)
- Familiarity with SELinux
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework for DoD and STIG requirements
Preferred Requirements
Certifications: IAT level III OR DevSecOps OR SysOps certifications in Azure or AWS
Education: Master's degree in Mathematics, Technology, Computer Science, and Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience
Experience: 3 Years of IT administration experience
- Knowledge of the Elastic Stack (ELK) SIEM application
- Experience with the Azure and AWS cloud environments preferred
- Understanding the concepts of Infrastructure as Code and Containerization for the development and deployment of systems in a cloud environment is desirable

The base pay for this position ranges from $90,000 to $140,000 across the U.S. There is a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training, and education.
