Overview

IDG is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Designer to lead the development and management of our digital products. You will work closely with a dedicated team, including a Principal Product Designer, other designers, and researchers, as well as cross-functionally with Product Management and Engineering. Together, we will ensure that high-quality work is delivered on schedule.

As a Product Designer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create exceptional user experiences. Your responsibilities will include designing intuitive interfaces, conducting user research, and working closely with engineers to bring your designs to life. Your problem-solving abilities and effective communication of design decisions will be vital to our success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the agile team throughout the product lifecycle to ensure alignment with the product vision.
  • Participating in all stages of product development, from research and ideation to launch.
  • Creating high-quality design deliverables, including wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
  • Using user research to inform design decisions and validate concepts.
  • Driving overall product strategy and decision-making.
  • Owning feature designs across various platforms, including web and mobile.
  • Utilizing analytics to understand user behavior and inform design improvements.
  • Solving complex design problems and creating innovative solutions.
  • Communicating design concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Human Factors, or equivalent/relevant work experience.
  • 5 years of professional experience in end-to-end product design.
  • 3 years of interaction design experience with the ability to define user needs, manage deadlines, and collaborate with stakeholders and agile teams.
  • 2 years of visual design experience, demonstrating proficiency in typography, color, layout, iconography, desktop, responsive web, mobile UI, and an understanding of how these elements impact product function.
  • Demonstrated product thinking and strong design rationale through navigation, user flows, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience in goal definition, with the ability to identify opportunities and make decisions based on user impact.
  • 3+ years of proven ability to represent work to a broader product team and other leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization.
  • Highly motivated with excellent follow-through and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for accessible and inclusive design.
  • Expert experience with Figma.
  • A portfolio is required to demonstrate qualifications.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms. Proficiency in English is required.

This role can be based in a remote East Coast approved office location.Β  Β Β

At IDG we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. We pay our employees equitably for their work, commensurate with their individual skills and experience. Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $110,000 and $132000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
