We are currently seeking a Project Manager specializing in Sustainable Building design & construction to join our Sustainability Consulting team. This is a remote or hybrid position based in the U.S. or Canada. Candidates located near a JLL office would work both on-site and remotely. Our teamโ€™s priorities are:ย

What this job involvesย ย 

Supporting and managing industry changing projectsย 

As a Project Manager at JLL, you will be directly responsible for working with a team to deliver challenging sustainability projects related to new construction and existing building operations. Your continuous development of skills and adoption of new technologies is key to the impact you will have in this role. You will interact with clients and vendors to develop collaborative solutions, manage project related documentation, perform research, conduct weekly meetings and develop reports and memos communicating technical details, processes and action items. Your knowledge of commercial real estate operations, sustainability and energy management, construction and/or architectural industry will speak to your ability to support your team in delivering interesting and industry changing projects.ย

You are proactive and forward thinking, seeking to understand the needs perspectives and motivations of clients. You will deliver consistent, timely, high quality work meeting project requirements in a cost-effective way. You will also be able to independently manage projects of varying sizes.ย

Job Activities (sampling)ย 

  • Lead project meetings, charrettes and presentationsย 

  • Develop and track sustainability metrics and goalsย 

  • Complete documentation including plans and calculations to achieve green building certifications (such as LEED,ย  WELL, Zero Carbon, etc.)ย 

  • Develop technical documentation, proposals, and presentations to clientsย 

  • Provide written and oral comments and reports to design teams, owners, or contractorsย 

  • If needed, conduct project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to sustainable design specifications, owner expectations and building codesย 

  • Support project executives on large complex projects and assignmentsย 

  • Proactively manage project-related issues on account or assignmentย 

  • Develop scope and schedule for assigned projectsย ย 

  • Manage financials on assigned projects (project set up, invoices, AR, etc.)ย 

  • Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost effective mannerย 

  • Make independent decisions with regard to specific job duties.ย  Seek guidance on decisions outside work scope.ย

Education and experienceย 

  • 3-6 yearsโ€™ experience in real estate sustainability, corporate environmental management or energy efficiencyย 

  • LEED AP,ย  WELL AP and/or Fitwel Ambassador experience preferredย 

  • BA/BS degree in environmental science, engineering, real estate, architecture, or related field with strong record of academic achievementย 

  • Experience with embodied carbon / sustainable material specification preferredย 

  • Experience with the following is a plus: GRESB, CDP, GRI, TCFD, SASB, ENERGY STAR, Building HVAC Systems, International Living Futures Institute, Net Zero, Passive House, Zero Wasteย 

  • Possess strong analytical and creative problem-solving skillsย 

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skillsย 

  • Ability to manage multiple projectsย

Estimated total compensation for this position:

90,000.00 โ€“ 125,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
