Public Notice for Direct Hire - Computer Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Duties

The CDC utilizes Direct/Expedited Hire Authorities to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to the grade level of the position. Applications may be periodically referred to hiring managers both during the open period and after the closing date. Because of the large number of applications anticipated, applicants' status will not be updated.



This public notice will be used to fill the positions listed below at multiple grade levels and locations.

• Computer Engineer (Cybersecurity): Grades GS-12 through GS-15

• Serving as a Computer Engineer specializing in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes in computer engineering.


• Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information system security program policies, procedures, and tools within and across the enterprise.


• Reviewing IT security programs to assess overall compliance with cybersecurity plans and policies, as well as their alignment with business requirement.


• Collaborating with other engineers and scientists to design and develop specific computerized applications and/or new methodology.
