We are bringing our mission to life across the Greater Phoenix area. Come join us! We are currently hiring a Senior Development Director for our Greater Phoenix Division based in Tempe, AZ. Β The Senior Development Director will generate revenue for our Heart Challenge fundraising campaign.Β  This campaign includes our signature Phoenix Heart Walk and West Valley Heart Walk events.Β Β

We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.Β  We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.Β

Responsibilities






Are you highly motivated to connect with industry and community leaders across the Greater Phoenix and West Valley areas? Executive leadership committees are key to sustainable growth and this is an outstanding opportunity to recruit, engage and develop diverse executive leadership volunteers to champion involvement with the American Heart Association.

Key responsibilities include:
β€’ Lead an agile, partner-focused, goal-oriented staff team that optimally represents the organization as one in achieving shared goals. Provide coaching and guidance on the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Heart Challenge fundraising campaigns including our signature Heart Walks. The fiscal year revenue goal for the division is $5.25 million net with direct accountability for $750,000 to be achieved through balanced campaign growth including corporate sponsorship and individual giving.
β€’ Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to inspire investment and shared ownership of our lifesaving work.
β€’ Identify, recruit, and engage strong volunteer leadership for sustained campaign growth and mission effectiveness.
β€’ Through volunteer leadership engagement and direct business development, prospect, secure and cultivate key relationships to drive maximum health and revenue impact including corporate sponsorship, individual giving, and strategic business planning. This includes developing and activating a pipeline of primarily corporate sponsors across Greater Phoenix with a focus on West Valley.
β€’ Understand and leverage CRM systems, division finances and data management for operational effectiveness.
β€’ Be part of leading a collaborative, interdependent team that consistently delivers on commitments.









Qualifications






Β 

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
  • A strong background in fundraising or outside sales, preferably within a voluntary health organization.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building and leading successful, diverse and inclusive teams.
  • Background in recruiting and engaging volunteer leadership for sustained involvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Unwavering professionalism and dedication to excellence.
  • Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated track record in recruiting, engaging, and activating corporate and medical volunteers with significant community influence.
  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communications, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation and training and writing clear, concise narrative reports and evaluations.
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
  • Knowledge of American Heart Association’s mission and programs.
