Description

This is a remote position open to applicants in FL, IL, KS, MI, OH, PA, TN, TX, UT, & WI only.


THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Full-Stack Website Designer will work closely with a team of highly skilled programmers and designers who develop bespoke website solutions for banks and credit unions that are secure, engaging, easy to manage, and deliver specific business results. They will participate in gathering requirements from key stakeholders, create and present design mockups, as well as participate in the CMS implementation and page build out. They should be well versed in accessibility guidelines, mobile-first, or responsive best practices, as well as SEO and Schema considerations. The Senior Full-Stack Website Designer will help to remediate QA/accessibility issues as well as collaborate closely with clients to provide training, including pre- and post-launch assistance. They will also help service clients ongoing through troubleshooting and performing short design and development sprints.


THE WORK ITSELF

  • Gather input and feedback from stakeholders to understand business requirements.
  • Develop and present intuitive design mockups that meet client strategic goals and expectations.
  • Actively participate in thoughtful design critiques while also following and sharing the latest trends in design.
  • Build and implement designs in variety of CMS platforms.
  • Write markup that meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and perform any necessary remediation.
  • Construct pages in a manner that is consistent with SEO strategy.
  • Make use of Open Graph metatags, microdata tagging, and page schema.
  • Manage updates, improvements, and support for existing clients.
  • Provide accurate estimates of project time involvement.
  • Troubleshoot client websites and CMS or 3rd-party systems integrations.
  • Manage and develop collaborative client relationships.
  • Research new tools, web development trends, and best practices to enhance the team’s strategy and process.


THE SKILLS YOU BRING


The Must Haves...

  • Bachelor’s degree in art, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with Kentico and WordPress CMS platforms.Β 
  • Expertise with HTML5 and CSS3 standards, including @media, selectors, and properties, as well as their application within WC3 related to the interoperability of CSS, DOM, HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, and supported frameworks.
  • Comfortable with Javascript and jQuery to build or modify existing code and integrations, specifically with the Google Maps API and building custom mega menus.
  • Strong understanding of development frameworks, including Bootstrap 5 and Flexbox.
  • Experience building custom UIs in the WordPress admin area with PHP and the Advanced Custom Fields plugin.
  • An understanding of back-end programming languages such as PHP and .NET, including coding and security standards.
  • Experience coding for WCAG 2.2 standards.
  • Proficient in graphic design platforms, such as Adobe Cloud, specifically Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe XD or Figma.
  • Ability to independently lead and execute projects.
  • Excellent sense of visual design; layout, composition, color, typography, etc.
  • A work location that is conducive to professional, video-based meetings.
  • Proficiency with SEO, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics.
  • Confidence in presentation and consulting engagements.
  • Work well in a team environment.

  • Financial Services experience preferred.
  • Portfolio that includes websites (desktop and mobile) and optionally illustration, animation/video, or print work.
