Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, Platform, the Senior Product Manager, Identity & Governance will define & own the strategy for Identity & Access Management, including user management, authentication and authorization capabilities across all Weights & Biases products. In addition, this role will also be responsible to devise and execute a roadmap for key governance themes like privacy controls, audit logs, sensitive data masking and more.
The Senior Product Manager, Identity & Governance will collaborate with the Identity Engineering team, cross-functional product and engineering teams, Security & Compliance, customer-facing teams, and Product Marketing to define and execute both near- and long-term roadmaps for IAM and governance capabilities, and efficiently execute those, with the goals to help customer admin personas configure & enforce various required controls in a simplified way, and to allow non-admin personas access the allowed products & features in a secure and easy manner.
What youβll achieve (Responsibilities):
- User Personas: Deeply understand the workflows of both admin and non-admin users. Identify pain points and opportunities by analyzing their product interactions and cross-team collaborations.
- Customer Insights: Conduct regular interviews with customers, partners, and internal teams, leveraging usability studies to uncover challenges and validate hypotheses for improving identity and governance experiences.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze and improve existing metrics to better capture user behavior. Drive projects to establish new metrics, focusing on identity & governance patterns that influence business growth and reduce churn.
- Strategic Planning: Define the strategy and roadmap for identity and governance capabilities across all products. Continuously adapt based on market trends, customer feedback, and internal input.
- Execution: Partner closely with the engineering team(s) to incrementally build new identity & governance capabilities and improve existing ones, by addressing teamsβ questions, helping make trade-offs, communicating any risks & dependencies to relevant stakeholders, and doing acceptance testing.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with security & compliance, marketing, sales, customer success, legal, documentation, and other product & engineering teams. Gain insights and communicate hypotheses, goals, and findings in conversations across teams.
What we're looking for (Requirements):
- 4+ years of product management experience for a B2B product, ideally serving a mix of smaller companies to large global organizations.
- Deep understanding of B2B user management, authentication & authorization standards, and ideally auditing and privacy control mechanisms.
- Experience making a technical product better, especially finding a balance between simplicity and flexibility to improve the admin & non-admin user experience.
- Experience driving the end-to-end product lifecycle, working autonomously to conduct user interviews, dig in on metrics, define requirements, run a process with engineering to deliver the product, measure success, and iterate. You partner with your engineering colleagues and other cross-functional teams, and sweat the details to ensure they have a clear and efficient plan of execution.
Ideal candidates will also have:
- Understanding of and a demonstrated interest in cloud infrastructure and scalable service-based architecture (comfortable with at least one of the major cloud ecosystems)
- Experience working in a startup context, with demonstrated skills taking ownership and driving ambiguous problems to success.
- Background and keen interest in data, machine learning, and generative AI
