Role Summary/Purpose:  

As a Sr Cyber Security Engineer, you will utilize your cyber security expertise to help GE Vernova protect its global brand, products, customers, and business partners. You will assist with day-to-day security operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective protection of our information systems, data and assets against cyber threats.  This role will require lean thinking and clear communication to align and mature the organization. 

  

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Security Operations Management. Assist with day-to-day activities of the cyber security operations team, reviewing architectural changes for security and compliance. 

  • Support automated cloud configuration management and orchestration (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Rego) and auto remediation capabilities. 

  • Configure and monitor cloud security controls such as CSPM, CWP, Azure Defender, CloudTrail, NGFW etc. 

  • Participate in threat management and respond to findings from configuration management tooling in multiple cloud provider environments, including PaaS (e.g. S3, RDS) 

  • Coordinate cyber compliance activities to include enabling function system audit readiness, audit coordination, key findings management, and issue management resolution. 

  • Delivery and Execution.  Ensure service and solutions delivered align with company strategy and include analytic integration for visualization. 

  • Develop dashboards, logging and alerting mechanisms to manage team and services effectively and efficiently. 

  • Promote peer, cross-functional and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness. 

  

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge or experience in Information Systems (IS), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Engineering from an accredited college or university. 

  • Relevant experience in Cyber Security and/or a Cloud Center of Excellence with focus on Cyber Security 

  

Desired Characteristics:  

  • Vernova segments/business experience is highly desired.   

  • GE leadership program graduate. 

  • Industry recognized security certification(s), such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, etc. 

  • Knowledge of systems implementations, SDLC, change control. 

  • Knowledge of information security policies, procedures, and practices. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, able to communicate appropriately to technical and management audiences. 

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and security frameworks; NIST 800-53. 

  • Demonstrated success hiring and leading a high-performing, highly engaged team. 

  • Ability to influence and build consensus with other Information Technology teams and leadership. 

  • Ability to seek innovative solutions to obstacles. 

  • Ability to lead process improvement. 

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery processes. 

  • Knowledge of cloud resilience architecture. 

  • Experience supporting and deploying solutions in a common cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, etc.) 

  

Total Base Pay Range

If contracted in the US:

The salary range for this position is 88,800.00 - 118,400.00 - 148,000.00 USD Annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include Health and Retirement.
