Miva is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Manager, Accounting who will be responsible for managing all operational accounting functions. Additionally, they will continuously improve the operations of the finance and accounting functions. The ideal candidate is a fast learner who will roll up their sleeves and have a positive impact in a fast-paced work environment.
You will:
Execute and manage all operational accounting functions & activities (including but not limited to general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and taxes)
Own the month-end close process, including periodic preparation of full disclosure financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Prepare, review, and/or post journal entries
Analyze financial results for variances to budget and prior periods
Oversee 1099, income tax, and sales tax reporting
Manage annual financial statement audit with external public accounting firm
Provide insight into forecasted cash disbursements & receivables collections
Analyze technical accounting topics and provide support for proper treatment
Hire, train, and develop accounting staff
Optimize processes with an emphasis on scalability and growth
Perform other duties as assigned
You have:
7 to 10 years of experience across both Big4 public accounting and industry roles
Bachelorβs degree required; CPA strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with proficiency in ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 805
High degree of sophistication and experience with QuickBooks, Maxio or equivalent software, and implementing and operating ERP and other software systems
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of organization, hands-on work, multi-tasking, and minimal oversight
Experience managing teams, especially in a distributed and remote environment
Superior attention to detail
Expert-level Excel skills
Strong project management acumen
Outstanding written and oral communication abilities
Process improvement mindset including a keen eye to challenging the status quo
Experience working in SaaS, eCommerce, or the technology sector
Experience working at a Private Equity or Venture Capital-backed company a plus

The salary range for this position is $120k - $150k annually. This information is current as of the initial date of this job posting and may be modified in the future. The actual pay determined for an individual will vary based on job-related factors such as relevant experience and/or education, particular skills, and location. In addition to base salary,Β this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive plan.
