JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Research, write, produce and/or present news items for publication/broadcast or feature reports covering a combination of genres (e.g., news, business/finance/economics, features/documentaries, sports and/ or entertainment). Conduct research and interviews; often writes own scripts. Typically work as a correspondent to cover events outside the media outlet's area. Support journalists and editors by researching news stories or preparing information for coverage. Lead coverage teams and may perform own recording, photography, videography and editing. Perform other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelorβs degree (or foreign equivalent) in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field required.
- 3 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
- Also required is: 3 years of experience: establishing relationships of trust with a network of industry contacts within the specialized niche of aircraft finance, who are prepared to share information on and insight into market developments for our editorial coverage; capturing these during conversations via officially certified 110wpm proficiency in Teeline shorthand technique; training in and understanding of the terminology and technical complexities of aircraft finance, feeding the ability to communicate market developments succinctly to a broad aviation-industry audience of subscribers; writing precise and digestible headlines to maximize audience engagement with the content; understanding aircraft financeβs role within the wider aviation ecosystem, facilitating ability to categorize articles correctly within our Editorial Tool so that they are surfaced in the right channels of our subscription service; and ability to translate dense and esoteric financial statements and regulatory filings into editorial coverage that is accessible to a broad swathe of aviation industry executives and professionals.
- Employee reports to LNRS Data Services, Inc. office in Portland, OR, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
- Experience can be concurrent.
