The ideal candidate would be someone who can chart the course for the end-to-end design process β from concept to final handoff to developers, is comfortable advocating for the best solution, enjoys keeping up with changes in UX/UI related trends, technologies and design ideologies.
As a UX Designer, you will be responsible for end-to-end workflow and design experience for our existing and new applications:
- Serve as an expert consultant during the detailed design phase by understanding business requirements, assisting in developing use case scenarios and bringing simplicity and user friendliness to complex workflows.
- Work with the executive team, clients, developers, analysts to create clean page layouts and intuitive interfaces that lead to extraordinary user experiences.
- Represent the voice of the user(s) in business and product conversations and decisions
- Collaborate with developers in building mockups, prototypes and interactive web applications built for usability using web design best practices.
- Knowledgeable on the latest industry trends in Web Design(SPA, CSS, HTML 5, mobile apps etc.) and the ability to design and implement interface evaluation methods.
- Carry out interface design and evaluation, usability testing, and user engagement.
- Plan and execute iterative user research and analysis defining clientsβ needs, objectives, and audiences through focus groups, interviews, surveys, and other discovery methods
- Create client-facing deliverables including user personas, sitemaps, wireframes, usability audits, heuristic evaluations, usability testing reports, user scenarios, and prototypes
- Create compelling interactions and experiences that support desired user behaviors β Document interviews, focus groups, workshops, and other discovery activities
- Track usability goals and prepare reports for senior management
- Conduct competitive analyses of other websites
Required Skills/Experience
- A Bachelorβs degree is required, preferably in Computer Design or Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Digital Media Arts, or Information Systems.
- Minimum of 8Β years of related work experience
- Firm understanding of the overarching process of website development (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and evaluation)
- Understanding of design principals and design systemΒ strategy and how it relates to the entire project lifecycle
- Understanding of information architecture as applied to web and application design
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile, deadline-driven environment
- Comfortable serving as a UI/UX generalist spanning multiple workstreams
- Proficiency in design tools, including Figma or Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping software (Axure, Balsamiq)
- Willing to learn and assist with other team activities including support to visual design, information architecture, content management, and/or design management
- Excellent written, verbal, client service and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage tasks
- Detail-oriented, problem-solving skills, self-motivated
Preferred but not required Experience:
- Experience designingΒ professional mobile applications and web sites based on modern standardsΒ
- Experience working inΒ a healthcare setting, specifically hospitals or health systems
- Ability to read but not necessarily code HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and React Native
- Familiarity with software source code management (Git)
- Experience working in an agile environment
