The Role:


Interdependence Public Relations is seeking to bring on an Account Director for our consumer working group. The ideal candidate is someone who has deep expertise in pitching consumer products, including proven media relations with top mainstream media outlets in the U.S. This candidate will lead media relations for several consumer products clients to ensure share of voice for their products, company and executive leaders.

This is an opportunity to take on a role as a strategic advisor and a partner to clients, deliver executive-level PR strategies, uncover compelling narratives and help teams across the agency secure top-tier press. In this position you’ll work alongside senior leaders across the organization to manage accounts, projects, budgets and teams both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The Responsibilities:β€―



  • Demonstrates expertise in media relations in the consumer space

  • Communicates big picture logistics, creative story ideas and media tactics to team

  • Craft media pitches using excellent writing skills, as well as your own unique vision; defines and adjusts strategies appropriately

  • Provides direct counsel and is seen as a media expert plus a valuable partner by the client

  • Must be skilled at pitching and placing consumer clients

  • Must be strategic in terms of media pitchesΒ 

  • Must be strong in client service skills

  • Must be a strong manager

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in journalism, communications, digital media or a related field

  • Preferably 8+ years of media relations, journalist experience, or agency experience with demonstrated success of media placements

  • Excellent news judgment, creative ideas, and writing skills a must.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Demonstrates exemplary follow-through and execution skills

  • Embraces new methodologies, with an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Excellent communication, organizational, writing and presentation skills
