Cornelis Networks is a technology leader delivering purpose-built, high-performance fabrics accelerating High Performance Computing, High Performance Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence workloads in the Cloud and in the Data Center.

The company’s products enable scientific, academic, governmental, and commercial customers to solve some of the world’s toughest challenges by efficiently focusing the computational power of many processing devices at scale on a single problem, simultaneously improving both result accuracy and time-to-solution for their most complex application workloads. Cornelis Networks delivers its end-to-end interconnect solutions worldwide through an established set of server OEM and channel partners.

Cornelis Networks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ASIC Microarchitect to join our dynamic team. As an ASIC Microarchitect, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of leading-edge networking ASICs for next-generation AI and HPC clusters scaling to exascale. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define microarchitecture, lead design efforts, and ensure the successful delivery of world-class SoCs to be deployed in high performance computing, high performance data analytics, and artificial intelligence interconnect solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Microarchitectural Design: Create microarchitectural solutions for key ASIC functions with an emphasis on performance, Si efficiency, minimizing risks in design and DV and reliability.
  • Performance Optimization: Collaborate with ASIC Architects and software leads to gather requirements. Create high-level performance models demonstrating that a microarchitecture meets these requirements. Work closely with verification, physical design, and software teams to optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose design enhancements.
  • Design Specification: Document these solutions and review them with architectural, design and DV teams, using a lightweight process the candidate will shape.
  • IP Integration: Collaborate with IP vendors and internal teams to integrate third-party IP blocks into ASIC designs, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
  • Technical Guidance: Collaborate with design and verification engineers to review their plans and ensure comprehensive implementation.
  • Post-Silicon Support: Support post-silicon activities, including silicon bring-up, debugging, and performance analysis to validate ASIC functionality and performance.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design methodologies to drive innovation and improve ASIC design processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated record of success in high-performance ASIC design, including microarchitecture and design implementation.
  • 4 + years' post-college experience with ASIC design flows (front-end and back-end).
  • 4 + years' post-college experience with ASIC verification techniques and methodologies.
  • 4 + years' post-college experience with silicon development
  • 4 + years' post-college experience in digital design with one or more HDL language (System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL)
  • 4 + years' post-college experience in one or more scripting language (TCL, Python, Perl)
  • Knowledge of industry-standard protocols and interfaces and familiarity with IP integration.
  • Understanding of Standard Cell ASIC development flow including digital design, IP integration, simulation and synthesis.
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
