New York Institute of Technology's College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM), one of the largest single-campus medical schools in the U.S., located on Long Island (Old Westbury, N.Y.), is requesting applications for an open faculty position in the department of Biomedical Sciences.Β 

Responsibilities

Teach in the biomedical sciences.

Facilitate in the small-group learning curriculum, if needed.

Assist in course administration if needed.Β 

Conduct competitive biomedical research.

Advise/mentor NYIT students on research projects.

Advise/mentor research and instruction of academic medicine scholars.

Maintain an active publushing record.

Actively seek funding opportunities.

Provide service to NYITCOM and the broader academic research community.Β Β 

Qualifications

Β 

Ph.D, MD or DO or Β comparable doctoral degree. Applicants with a DO/PhD are of particular interest to engage with our DO/PhD program.

Β 

Existing strengths within the department include cardiovascular, cancer and neuroscience.

Β 

Applicants with current funding will be considered at Associate Professor or Professor rank.

Β 

NYIT has recently established an imaging center which includes many state-of -the-art microscopes.Β  NYITCOM also has a histology core.Β  The department includes a small animal physiology core with comprehensive assessment of cardiac function and echocardiography.Β  Both cores are offered at no cost to faculty.
