Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standard a plus
  • Experience with Royalty accounting a plus
  • Supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system required, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new software applications
  • Thorough understanding of accounting rules under US GAAP
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and with professionalism, meeting deadlines in a timely manner
  • Uncompromised integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to standard operating procedures, metrics, and regulatory compliance

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of timeΒ

  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote location.

$65,000 - $85,000. This salary range is specific to Colorado, New York, California, and Washington, and may differ in other locations. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy]. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

About the Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Manager, General Accounting to join our General Accounting team.Β  This individual will perform monthly accounting tasks necessary to record and update the Company’s accounting records and supervise a staff accountantΒ 

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

  • Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
  • Various month-end close responsibilities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial results
  • Perform year-end analysis of certain processes for reasonableness
  • Prepare journal entries, including accruals and prepaids, for monthly, quarterly and year-end close
  • Review Journal Entries prepared by staff level employees for accuracy and completeness
  • Account reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts, including the verification of data for completeness and accuracy
  • Review and approve account reconciliations for staff level employees.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports in a timely manner
  • Prepare various reports to be distributed to departmental management
  • Diligently follow up to ensure that all deadlines are met, and that management is routinely apprised of progress and issues
  • Assist management and various internal customers with their understanding of internal financial statements and other general questions
  • Manage projects geared towards process improvement, and identify opportunities towards automation
  • Drive projects to completion and seek ways to improve efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Participate in quarterly, interim, and year-end audits, including preparing supporting materials
  • Partner with internal auditors to ensure that internal controls are in compliance with SOX 404
  • Additional duties as assigned
