DescriptionOwlchemy Labs is looking for a Contract QA Tester to assist our QA team by performing QA testing for Owlchemy Labs products while providing assistance throughout other areas of development as needed.
This is a six (6) month contract estimated to commence in late February/early March 2025.
- Manual testing to ensure games in-development are meeting quality standards
- Perform functional testing by executing test plans
- Work closely with the QA team to identify and log issues
- Respond promptly to JIRA updates, slack messages, and other team notifications
- Anticipate and communicate risk areas throughout the projectβs life cycle
- Assist with the development, deployment, and maintenance of QA tools
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to meet milestone goals and determine content and testing requirements
- Ensure all platform support is fully functional and dependable at release
- Keep up-to-date on the latest in technology for Unity and VR
Requirements - Experience as part of a QA team on a shipped video game
- Firm understanding of game design fundamentals
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace suite of tools
- Proficient with JIRA, familiar with Unity
- Familiarity with Testrail or similar test tracking tools
- Strong attention to detail, and ability to boil down complexity to partners and stakeholders
- Ability to communicate crisply and clearly, both written and verbally
- High school diploma or equivalentΒ
Physical Requirements:Β
- This role involves testing with virtual reality products which requires prolonged periods of standing and moving around. Various ergonomic options are provided.
- Contractors must be able to use virtual reality headsets, but are not expected to own one.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Prior experience working in QA for VRΒ
- Experience working effectively with outsourced QA teams
- Experience developing projects with UnityΒ
- Experience with PSVR, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, Steam, Viveport, and/or Apple Vision Pro
- Appreciation of puns (or at least the ability to groan at them)
