Purpose of the Position


Plans and designs security solutions and capabilities that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Defines and develops security requirements using risk assessments, threat modeling, testing, and analysis of existing systems. Develops security integration plans to protect existing infrastructure and to incorporate future solutions. Creates action plans for policy creation and governance, system hardening, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and emerging cybersecurity threats. Utilizes security information and event management (SEIM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other tools in action plan designs. Reviews current architectures and systems to ensure consistency and compliance with the organization's guidelines, policies, and standards. Keeps abreast of the latest cyber threat information. The Cyber Security Architect III will create security policies and a process to incorporate security controls into the company's information system so that the controls become an integral part of the system's operational capabilities. They will support the delivery of engineering solutions that satisfy functional and user requirements and prevent misuse and malicious behavior in company systems. The incumbent’s work is highly independent; serves as a specialist on complex technical and business matters.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.

  • Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.

  • Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.

  • Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.

  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.

  • Plan, develop, implement, and update the company's information security strategy.

  • Educate and train staff on information system security best practices.

  • Regular, reliable attendance during normal business hours.

  • In-person attendance and travel as requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.Β 


Education and Experience


Required:



  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university with a major in Engineering, Computer science or another technical field. Plus:

    • Seven (7) or more years of experience working as a Cyber Security Engineer or Architect or related position.



  • In addition to the above Education and Experience, the following experience or skills are required:

    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

    • Proven experience developing, operating, and maintaining security systems.

    • Extensive knowledge of operating systems and database security.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in networking technologies, network security, and network monitoring solutions.

    • Strong knowledge of security protocols and principles, including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems, intrusion detection, and notification systems.

Preferred:



  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

  • Master of Science degree from an accredited university with a major in Engineering, Computer science or another technical field.
