ASSYST is seeking a CyberΒ Security Engineer to Support our client in Austin, TX. It is a 100% remote position, but the candidate should be local to AUSTIN, TX.Β
Responsibilities:Β
AWS Cloud Migration: Contribute to the successful migration of systems to AWS Cloud by identifying security risks and applying threat intelligence to mitigate vulnerabilities during the migration process.
Threat Intelligence Application: Utilize information security threat intelligence to proactively identify, analyze, and exploit potential vulnerabilities in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Cloud & On-prem Security Monitoring: Perform continuous security analysis and monitoring for both on-premises systems and cloud environments to ensure that security controls are in place and operating effectively.
Security Architecture Reviews: Conduct regular security architecture reviews to assess security measures, policies, and controls across infrastructure, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry standards to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and guidelines, particularly in cloud computing and data management.
Cybersecurity Software Proficiency: Maintain proficiency with the latest cybersecurity software tools, leveraging advanced technologies to improve security operations and threat detection.
DevSecOps Integration: Work closely with IT teams managing DevSecOps to integrate security practices into the development, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring that security is embedded in the entire software development lifecycle.
Collaboration Across IT Teams: Interact with multiple IT departments and stakeholders to coordinate the management and resolution of security issues, ensuring comprehensive risk mitigation across all environments.
Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities related to security breaches, applying threat intelligence and incident management protocols to contain and resolve security incidents.
Reporting and Documentation: Document security risks, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts; prepare detailed reports for internal teams and leadership to ensure transparent communication and decision-making.
Required Qualifications:Β 8 years of experience in the below skillset
Experience with ITSM and ITIL governance processes.
Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically, knowing when to apply each type of action.
Very strong communication skills: oral, written, presentation, and facilitation.
Technical understanding with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
IT Service Management knowledge beyond theory; experience in roles that implement IT best practices.
Credibility and trust; ideally, has earned the respect of IT managers and other business managers at all levels.
Ability to bring together and work with a diverse team (business analysts, technical experts, process owners) to address and resolve service level issues.
A good understanding of IT Outsourcing and Managed Services.
Proficiency in statistical, numerical, and analytical principles and processes.
Innovative thinking focused on service quality and its improvement, within the constraints of costs and business direction.
Adherence to Project Management best practices.
Experience with ITSM service tools, including ServiceNow and Remedy.
Preferred Experience
5 years: Proficient in the use of Remedy On Demand.
4 years: IT Service Management certification (ITIL V3 or V4).
4 years: Experience with ServiceNow in use with supporting external business partners. Experience with Cloud service provider AWS.
3 years: Training experience.
1 year: Experience with ServiceNow security operations. Experience with DevOps tools (Jira, GitLab, etc.).
