Responsibilities






  • Assist the Cybersecurity Engineer in providing engineering and system administration support to secure information systems in cloud environments.Β 
  • Monitor and document RMF Continuous Monitoring processes for Web, Database, and Application Services/Servers.Β 
  • Support the development of Cloud Security Engineering documentation, including the preparation of informational and decisional briefs, white papers, and acquisition artifacts.Β 
  • Help install, configure, and integrate security solutions in the cloud under the guidance of senior engineers.Β 
  • Contribute to the review and implementation of security controls, including secure network design, database access, and authentication methods.Β 
  • Assist in the coordination of quarterly self-assessments and annual security reviews.Β 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and best practices.Β 
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and mitigate security weaknesses in the cloud environment.Β 








Qualifications






Minimum:Β 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.Β 
  • 1-2 years of experience or relevant internships in cybersecurity or IT security-related roles.Β 
  • Basic understanding of security frameworks such as NIST and RMF for IS guidance.Β 
  • Familiarity with security control implementation and monitoring.Β 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and other team members.Β 

Preferred:

  • Experience or coursework related to cloud security (AWS, Azure, etc.).Β 
  • Exposure to tools like AWS Cloud Formation, CloudTrail, Config, CloudWatch, IAM, or similar.Β 
  • Basic understanding of STIGs and security inheritance concepts.Β 
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.Β 
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or other entry-level cybersecurity certifications.Β 
  • CMS Acceptable Risk Safeguards v5.1Β 
  • CMS Technical Reference ArchitectureΒ
