Data Science Associate

We are looking to add a Data Scientist with a focus on advanced AI/ML capabilities to our team of professionals.

 

What you'll do:

 

The Data Scientist candidate will have crucial role in delivering new AI/ML capabilities to an existing cloud-based, distributed, high-performance analytics platform.

 

• Research, analysis, and security assessments for AI/ML capabilities including, but not limited to; hosted LLMs, deep learning modeling packages, utilization of GPUs for optimized model execution, Generative AI applications, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications for Fraud, Waste, and Abuse modeling.
• Securely designing, developing, and implementing advanced AI/ML application for model developers to incorporate into their own development.
• Staying up to date with latest capabilities rolled out to current COTS products integrated into the analytics system architecture, such as Snowflake and Databricks, as well as industry leading tools and platforms.
• Ensuring data security, quality, and overall governance is at the forefront of all newly implemented changes.
• Exercising strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics, coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and utilizing high-performance computing environments.
• Designing model development lifecycle optimizations and process automation of model quality checks.
• Integration of model governance for secure deployment and release of models. This includes maintaining automated release pipelines, automated testing, and overall governance checks for ML and non-ML models.
• Monitoring and evaluating model performance.
• Leading team coordination of tasks and deliverables to carry out new initiatives.
• Communicating complex concepts effectively to the development team and higher level stakeholders.

 

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD or 9 years exp with HS Diploma/equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience with programming in Python, R
• Demonstrated experience manipulating dataframes through SQL, pandas, or tidyverse
• Experience with MLFlow for integrated model governance into the model development lifecycle
• Advanced spark knowledge and familiarity with deep learning modeling packages
• Self-starter for exploration into advanced AI/ML capabilities
• Team player - strong desire to work in a collaborative environment
• Excellent communication skills to support internal development team and external stakeholders
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with LLMs and Generative AI capabilities
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex
• Development with scripting languages, such as Python and bash, to support automated CI/CD processes
• Experience architecting large scale analytics components to support model development
• Experience in healthcare industry analytics and data, preferably Medicare or Medicaid
