POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Accounting role will lead our accounting department and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. This director must have a strong background in accounting principles, financial management, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical in driving financial strategy, optimizing accounting processes, and contributing to the overall success of the Company.


Roles:

  • Oversee the activities of the corporate Accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, cash management, banking and annual budgets.
  • Oversee the activities of ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, and cash control.
  • Oversee or complete all financial audit and tax schedules to support our CPA firm, for the annual financial audit and final tax returns. Prepare all tax information for all federal and state agencies for quarterly and annual deposits.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management.


Major Responsibilities or Assigned Duties:


ο»ΏLeadership & Strategy:

  • Lead, mentor, coach and deliver timely feedback to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Develop and implement accounting strategies that align with the company’s financial goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to inform and guide financial decision-making.
  • Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate the organization’s financial needs.


Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts.


Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversees debt service payments and financial transactions to ensure that outstanding debt and financial transactions are in compliance with reporting requirements and debt covenants.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring all findings are addressed and resolved.


Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and implementing best practices.
  • Leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.


Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, tax, and operations, to ensure cohesive financial management.
  • Partnering with operations and sales teams to appropriately price and forecast the value of new deals.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.


Financial Analysis:

  • Provide insightful analysis of financial data to drive business performance and inform strategic initiatives.
  • Support decision-making with data-driven recommendations and financial modeling.

Skills and Experience:Β 

  • MBA, CPA, and/or other professional qualification preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven leadership and supervision skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
