Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) of Bend, Oregon, the largest pediatric practice in the region, is hiring a full-time Data Analyst (Healthcare Analytics).Β 

Remote Eligible Position - Oregon Only

At COPA, the Data AnalystΒ plays an integral role serving patients at our friendly and welcoming medical clinic for children of all ages.Β 

TheΒ Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making. This position is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and reporting on data from multiple sources including our electronic medical record (EMR) system, Epic, and generating insights through Power BI.Β Β Β This position is responsible for supporting in the design, development, implementation and coordination of complex data compilation and analysis that promotes and support the organization’s initiatives including operational reports, trending operational data, dashboards and KPIs, and analytical reports.Β 

The role of theΒ Data Analyst will include but is not limited to the following duties:Β 

Data Extraction and Management:

  • Pull, clean, and organize data from the EMR to meet reporting and analysis needs.Β 
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other data privacy regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex scripts and reports using Epic Cogito tools, SQL, Microsoft Excel, and other analytic tools.Β 

Β Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Utilize Power BI to create interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into key metrics.
  • Track and report Quality Improvement Metrics (QIMs) as specified by our CCO, ensuring that data meets regulatory standards and deadlines.Β 
  • Monitor trends and identify areas for improvement in clinical processes and patient outcomes based on data analysis.Β 

Β Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to understand data needs and interpret findings.
  • Present data insights to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner, making recommendations to support quality improvement efforts.Β 
  • Serve as a liaison between Legacy Connect services, PacificSource data team and Quality Improvement teams, and other entities where data is transmitted and our internal clinical operations teams by translating technical data concepts into actionable insights for a non-technical audience.Β 

Β Quality Improvement Support:

  • Partner with Population Health Manager and other members of QI Committee to support initiatives related to pediatric care metrics, focusing on areas such as preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient engagement.
  • Cofacilitate Quality Improvement Committee with Population Health Manager and bring up to date QIM, eCQM, and CAHPS data on a monthly cadence.Β 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection and reporting processes to streamline workflows and improve data quality. Β 

Β QualificationsΒ 
Β Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance or related field or equivalent experience.Β 

Β Experience:Β 

  • Epic EMR experience with data extraction and reporting, including experience with Clarity or other Epic reporting tools is required.Β 
  • 5+ years of experience working with large databases, data verification, and data management or 3+ years IT experience.
  • Healthcare analytics experience preferred. Β 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Β 
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Skills:Β 

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in SQL and data querying tools
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query, and experience creating interactive dashboards.Β 
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Knowledge of statistical software (e.g. JMP, Python) is preferred.Β 

Β Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various COPA teams and manage multiple priorities.Β 

Β Physical Requirements: Β 

  • Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking. Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasions up to 50 pounds. Β Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.Β 
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Β Working Conditions:Β 

  • Position may qualify to be located remote within Oregon to include periodic on-site meetings and shifts in COPA clinics, business office or community partners.
  • Travel between COPA clinics, business office and community partners as required. Β
