Overview:
The Operations Project Manager II plays a critical leadership role in driving organizational success by managing and delivering complex, cross-functional projects from inception to completion. This position focuses on collaboration, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement, leveraging deep organizational knowledge to foster innovation and achieve results. The Operations Project Manager II partners closely with stakeholders at all levels, including Operations senior leadership, to inspire teams, lead change initiatives, and deliver impactful outcomes.

The primary focus of this role will be on operations teams (quoting, underwriting, case installation, customer service, etc.) and operations infrastructure such as workflow, inventory management, workforce planning, reporting, KPIs and process improvement initiatives.Β 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Execution:

  • Directly oversee the planning, execution, and completion of operations projects across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-departmental stakeholders, ensuring buy-in at all levels.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including milestones, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Team Mentorship and Collaboration:

  • Mentor, motivate, and inspire project teams to collaborate as active partners, not just task-doers.
  • Effectively manage and lead remote teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and trust.

Strategic Partnership:

  • Serve as a key advisor to the Operations leadership team, utilizing organizational knowledge to provide strategic recommendations that support business goals.
  • Lead ideation sessions with stakeholders to identify and prioritize new project opportunities.
  • Act as a catalyst for change by seeking opportunities to align operational projects with corporate objectives and future growth targets.

Process and System Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process and system enhancements, providing actionable recommendations to improve operations efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Plan and lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions during project implementation.

Stakeholder Communication and Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, and senior leadership.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, presentations, and insights to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Manage scope changes and interdepartmental dependencies effectively, minimizing disruptions to Operations.

Continuous Improvement and Post-Project Evaluation:

  • Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for future operational improvements.
  • Develop and implement best practices for project execution and management.

Skills and Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience with 5+ years of hands-on project management experience. A project management credential (or pursuit of one) is strongly preferred.
  • Operations Experience: strong operational background and proficiency in documenting operations workflows, defining business processes and developing specifications. Experience establishing and/or managing KPIs, operational reporting and/or workforce planning a plus. Experience with business-driven projects requiring IT support preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Β Advanced level in PowerPoint and/or Visio (or similar tools like Lucid) preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong planning, multitasking, and time management abilities, with a focus on delivering results in dynamic environments.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work on-site and remotely, accommodating varying time zones and occasional overtime or holiday work to meet critical deadlines.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel nationwide (5-10% if needed), including multi-day trips, to support project needs.
  • Change Management Expertise: Experience planning and leading change management efforts within cross-functional teams.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations, and find innovative solutions to challenges
  • Collaborative Mindset: Proven success in fostering teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration on interdependent projects.
  • Operations/IT Experience: strong operational background with business IT projects experiences preferred.

Physical and Practical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, lift up to 5 pounds, and perform routine office tasks such as filing and document preparation.
  • Availability for occasional travel and on-site meetings as needed.

Compensation

  • Annual Salary Range*: $87,075.00 - $116,100.00 per year
  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
