The Philanthropy Manager is responsible for leading a comprehensive strategy to cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level gifts ($1,000 to $9,999, with targeted focus on gifts of $5,000+). The Philanthropy Manager will shape and lead initiatives to grow the donor pipeline, and coordinate strategy and tactics with the gift officers responsible for major gifts and annual fund giving.Β
This position sets and ensures the mid-level program will serve as the driving force to improving and deepening donor engagement and increasing philanthropic revenue. It will grow the donor base, increasing retention, and collaborating with other key development stakeholders for an ongoing and seamless donor experience to support in upgrading giving levels for this critical donor audience.Β
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESΒ Β
- In concert with the organizationβs strategic priorities, develop, manage, and execute a strategy for mid-level donors ($1,000-$9,999) that:Β
- Expands the number of donors;Β
- Retains and deepens relationships with existing donors;Β
- Increases the average gift size;Β
- Positions mid-level donors to become major donorsΒ
- Maintain a healthy portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects utilizing a data-driven and relational one-to-some approach with most and a strong relationship-forward one-to-one approach with special mid-level donors.Β
- Develop a strong roadmap for a mid-level donor journey, including compelling messaging, data-driven tactics, and donor segmentation to deepen engagement with donors throughout the year.Β Β
- Lead strong cultivation and stewardship events and activities for the mid-level portfolio with the goal of deepening relationships and increasing giving.Β
- Participate in prospect discovery work and collaborate with the Annual Fund Manager to upgrade donors to mid and major donor status.Β Β
- Collaborate with the Development Operations team in conducting ongoing evaluations of mid-level giving, analyzing trends throughout the year and recommending changes to strategy.Β
- Develop and track an annual and comprehensive work plan for the mid-level program in Salesforce against annual goals.Β
- Consistently stay on top of mid-level giving trends and ensure that GFW shows up to important spaces to build partnerships and cultivate new ones.Β Β
- Ground fundraising and donor education in intersectionality, equity, and social justice to increase trust with new audiences.Β Β Β

Salary Range of $86,079 - $129,118*
