Essential functions (job duties):


The Project Coordinator for Oncology Basic Science will focus on basic science support within the Department of Oncology, reporting to the Molecular Imaging (MI) Program Leader. In this role, the Project Coordinator will provide crucial support to research efforts of WSU鈥檚 National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center. This position supports the leaders of the MI Program. This position also serves as a major liaison to outside stakeholders for the Department of Oncology, working with the Marketing Department, outside vendors, community groups and research collaborators from other institutions. This position will provide direct support of research projects (ex: coordination of grant submissions, development, and analysis of demographic surveys) and may be partially supported by extramural funding, commensurate with research effort.

Manage complex project schedules for various initiatives within the MI Program of WSU鈥檚 (NCI) designated cancer center. Maintain work plans, task lists and project calendars on a regular basis and meeting interim deadlines. Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings and events. Organizes monthly meetings and major annual retreats/symposiums, including logistics such as: corresponding with marketing staff, planning for research collaboration(s), developing programs, and managing the harmonization of on-site speakers/stakeholders.

Liaison between NCI, community members and external research collaborators. Ensure external stakeholders views are collected and managed toward best solutions.

Coordinate efforts with other internal cancer research areas. Serves as the link between the MI Program, Community Outreach and Engagement (COE), Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), the other major research Programs within the Department of Oncology, and other essential initiatives of the cancer center.

Provide support to cancer center leaders in writing research reports and manuscripts, developing presentations, contributing to grant submissions, and creating other materials as needed. Drafting project updates and reports as needed.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: Entry level (less that a year of job-related experience)

路 Advanced Capabilities with Microsoft Office Products: Skilled in using office software for research papers, data management and presentation preparation.
