Job Summary:






SpinSytems is seeking a SAS Administrator. The SAS Administrator is responsible for the overall administration, maintenance, and support of the SAS platform in a Linux environment. The role involves ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the SAS infrastructure, managing user access, performing upgrades, and troubleshooting issues. The SAS Administrator works closely with data analysts, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that the SAS environment meets business needs.Β 









Job Duties and Responsibilities:






SAS Platform Administration:Β 

  • Install, configure, and maintain SAS software on Linux servers.Β 
  • Manage and monitor SAS services to ensure optimal performance and availability.Β 
  • Β 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAS-related issues, including performance tuning and error resolution.Β 

User Management:Β 

  • Create and manage user accounts, groups, and roles within the SAS environment.Β 
  • Set up and manage user access controls and security policies.Β 
  • Provide user support and training as needed.Β 

System Monitoring and Performance Tuning:Β 

  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization.Β 
  • Optimize SAS configurations to improve performance.Β 
  • Implement best practices for data storage, backup, and recovery.Β 

Collaboration and Support:Β 

  • Work with IT teams to integrate SAS with other systems and databases.Β 
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand their needs and provide technical support.Β 
  • Assist with the development and execution of disaster recovery plans.Β 

Documentation and Compliance:Β 

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the SAS environment, including configurations, procedures, and policies.Β 
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.Β 








Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

Work authorization/security clearance requirements
Ability to obtain or already possess a DoD Secret clearance for this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
Β 

Education/Cerfiticates:Β Β 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Β 
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SAS Certified Platform Administrator for SAS 9) are a plus.Β 

Experience:Β 

  • Proven experience as a SAS Administrator in a Linux environment.Β 
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, including shell scripting.Β 
  • Experience with SAS Grid, SAS Viya, or other SAS products is desirable.Β 

Technical Skills:Β 

  • Proficiency in SAS administration tools and utilities.Β 
  • Knowledge of network and server security best practices.Β 
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).Β 
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) is an advantage.Β 

Soft Skills:Β 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Β 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Β 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Β
