Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Technology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience in PR, with a significant portion of that in an agency setting. This role requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record in team management, crisis communication, and high-stakes public relations within the tech industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of PR professionals, providing direct oversight and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Make strategic budget and staffing decisions to ensure optimal team performance.
- Identify skills gaps and implement training and development programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Drive team culture and maintain high levels of engagement in an all-remote environment.

Strategic Communication:
- Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies for technology clients, with a focus on B2B industry sectors.
- Provide expert guidance on crisis communication and manage high-pressure situations effectively.
- Lead by example, rolling up your sleeves to work alongside your team on key projects.

Client Relations & Public Speaking:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their PR needs are met with excellence.
- Deliver persuasive presentations and pitches to C-suite executives and stakeholders.
- Coach and prepare executives for public speaking engagements and media interactions.

Media Relations & Pitching:
- Leverage your understanding of the tech journalism landscape to secure top-tier press coverage.
- Demonstrate exceptional AP writing skills in crafting compelling press releases, pitches, and other communications materials.
- Oversee product launches and manage the associated PR activities.

Inclusive Communication & Reporting:
- Ensure regular and inclusive communication within the team and with clients, providing updates on workflow and project progress.
- Foster an environment of transparency and accountability through consistent reporting.
Qualifications:

Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in PR, with substantial time spent in an agency setting. Experience in internal PR for a tech company or startup is a plus.
- At least 7 years in a leadership role involving budget and staffing decisions.

- Proven leadership experience in managing and supervising teams, conducting annual reviews, and identifying skills gaps.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to persuade and coach C-suite executives.
- Expertise in crisis communication and strategic problem-solving.
- Deep understanding of the tech journalism landscape and B2B industry sectors.
- Exceptional inclusive communication skills, with the ability to manage workflow and project progress.
- Strong AP writing skills and a track record of securing press coverage through effective pitching.
