DescriptionThe Senior Software Developer - Platforms works with the IT team to develop web and dev ops solutions and services.
Responsibilities:
- Envisioning, designing, creating, and supporting our solutions that operate with a high degree of operational excellence.
- Partner with a cross-functional team to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software and solutions that wows our internal and external stakeholders.
- Be willing to explore technical needs and bring problems AND solutions to the table.
- Some DBA responsibilities - restoring backups to assist in new site setups
- Identify and develop tools to automate our repeatable processes
- Constantly strive to raise the bar on engineering excellence
- Focus on optimization and performance at scale
- Lead the way - staying up to date with tools, trends, technologies and frameworks both and then sharing that knowledge in a meaningful way
- Supports team members by providing advice, coaching and code reviewsΒ
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer with full stack development experience (e.g. PHP, Symfony, SQL, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, node.js)
- Great PHP development skills building large scale web applications and APIs.
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL databases
- Strong problem solving skills; adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership.
- A high-quality bar and a drive of continuous improvement; just-enough documentation, unit testing, code reviews, test automation, continuous integration & deployment and a preference for agile methods.
- Great communication skills - the ability to think creatively and adapt the message to the audience.
- Experience using and implementing system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic) and automated testing frameworks
- Prior use of AWS technologies in a production environment

- Experience with React, Svelte, Python, Serverless, Microservices, and cross-platform development
