Performance OutcomesÂ
Â
Development of Products or SystemsÂ
The Senior Software Engineer is well-versed in the process of developing quality software and will have clear areas of expertise within their area of focus. They will begin to contribute to common patterns of engineering at the company. They may begin to develop secondary areas of expertise (e.g., a front-end developer who also does backend work). They are a regular contributor to architectural and design decisions of their team, extending to the entire company. They can work on complex systems independently and be trusted. Their scope continues to be strongly rooted at the product level. This will increasingly include some elements of product definition and requirements, working with business owners. Their work is focused beyond the individual task or ticket, solving broader problems in anticipation of requirements. They will think about things well beyond the sprint with a lens into the major release cycle. Â
