Overview






Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Sr. Software Developer to join our IT Development department!

The Sr. Software Developer ensures efforts are in alignment with the Information Technology team to support customer-focused objectives and the IT Vision, a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions, and services to simplify people’s lives. The Sr. Software Developer’s role is to define, design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and existing applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes designing, documenting, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Sr. Software Developer will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.Β

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of software programs and applications.Β 
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.Β 
  • Define, develop, and document software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.Β 
  • Design, develop, document, and implement new applications and application enhancements according to business and technical requirements. Β Β 
  • Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.Β 
  • Research, identify, analyze, design, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external program users.Β 
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.Β 
  • Consistently design, write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.Β 
  • Write new and modify existing programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.Β 
  • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.Β 
  • Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.Β 
  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. Β Β  Β  Β  Β  Β 
  • Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process. Β Β 
  • Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.Β 
  • Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.Β 
  • Code reviews and mentoring of less experienced development staff on an as needed basis to ensure conformity to company standard practices.Β 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and development guidelines.Β 
  • Train end users to operate new or modified programs.Β 
  • Install software products for end users as .Β 
  • Participate in, adhere to and support compliance and diversity, equity, and inclusion program objectives.Β

Qualifications






What our team expects from you?Β Β 

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and must have 3+ years of professional programming work experience.Β Β Β 
  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.Β Β 
  • Working knowledge or experience with source control tools such as TFS and GitHub.Β Β 
  • Experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.Β Β 
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.Β Β 
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.Β 
  • Working knowledge or experience with cloud-first, API-first and microservice architecture and or strategies.Β 
  • Working knowledge or experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Β 
  • Working knowledge or experience building cloud-native applications in any primary public cloud provider: AWS, or Azure, or GPC.Β
