Subject Matter Expert (SME) AWS Linux Migration Engineer (Temporary)

i3 is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) AWS Linux Migration Engineer to support an Air Force Contract.  This candidate will be part of a team responsible for the design/planning, management, support, coordination, configuration and implementation of a Red Hat Linux 8 migration to Red Hat Linux 9 distribution.   

Pay Range $120k-$140k.

The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, geographic location, and any applicable laws.

This position is a temporary surge position expected to last 1-3 months. 

• Migrate and configure RHEL 8 to 9 Linux distributions within the AWS environment. 

• Design, sustain, maintain, AWS Linux environments and topologies. 

• Implement AWS security and monitoring solutions. 

• Configure Linux environment based on DISA STIGs.  

• Tools and Automation (scripting – Terraform, ARM templates, TFS/DevOps) 

• Configure and troubleshoot cloud systems. 

• Project and design documentation. 

• Process and support documentation. 

• Update Knowledge base and Standard Operating Procedures as requested. 

• Maintain regular contact with customers during support and projects. 

• Provide technical assistance and training to admins and users. 

• Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more of related experience. Additional year of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.  

• In-depth understanding of, and experience with, deployments of various systems to AWS. 

• Security + or higher certification.

• Currently hold Secret clearance.
