Description 

We are seeking a System Engineer with an expert level of technical skill to join our IT engineering team. The engineer is responsible for the architectural design and continuous development of our cloud-based systems including but not limited to IAM (Okta). The engineer will plan, design, build, and integrate a variety of systems to create solutions such as role-based access management and user lifecycle management to improve productivity and enhance security.

The System Engineer will work to support all GuidePoint IT platforms, providing “Wow Them” service to clients and/or internal customers or co-workers.

Roles and Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible to implement end-to-end solutions to support identity federation and robust access control models (e.g., SAML 2.0, OAuth, SCIM) and ensure maintainability and supportability of the solution.
  • Responsible to establish repeatable processes for Access Management using Okta.
  • Drive automation through Okta workflows with continuous improvement in IAM standards, procedures, security patterns and governance
  • Lead and partner closely with key stakeholders on the application and business teams to ensure the organization meets or exceeds client satisfaction with innovative IAM solutions
  • Work with vendor partners to deliver initiatives on time and within budget
  • Subject matter expert, providing Access Management services to Employees and Contractors. Primarily focused on forward engineering, POC design patterns and automation of existing manual processes to drive efficiencies.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and an understanding of Associates Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects and tasks
  • Responsible for working independently with the vendor partners, security architecture, application architecture and business stakeholders to enable and integrate applications into the GuidePoint Security’s suite of IAM capabilities through existing or new IAM patterns
  • Responsible to support a broad range of IT Systems across GuidePoint as a member of the larger Systems Support Team.
  • Review and publish knowledge articles for IAM partners to effectively integrate with IAM solutions
  • Responsible for training, mentoring, and providing technical guidance to the other team members and partners
  • Fosters Innovation and Automation within the organization by developing and/or supporting new or improved products, procedures, metrics, or technologies

Required Experience: 

  • 8 years or more experience in relevant cloud system administration roles in large companies with 1,000 or more employees.
  • Experience in Okta, G-Suite, Kandji and/or Intune, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows.
  • Experience in implementing, supporting, and driving improvement of a highly automated role-based access solution using Okta or similar technology.
  • Experience in advanced Development skills to automate workflows and tasks with JSON, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript, SAML, SCIM, etc.
  • Experience in advanced system administration skills with AWS or GCP.
  • Experience in participating in multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing them effectively.
  • Experience in adopting or working with industry and security standards such as NIST, ITIL, SOX, SOC, GDPR, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure our internal partners and customers can understand technical solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel – 10%
