Overview

The UX Designer is part of the Product Office, which resides on the UX team and reports to the Chief Product Officer. UX Design at CIS brings the practices of interaction design, visual design, and other product design disciplines together into a single, user-centric design team.

Our UX team works across the company with multiple teams and products. The UX Designer will produce engaging UI concepts from their research, develop those concepts into complete and well-documented frameworks, and deliver high fidelity mockups and prototypes. This position works closely with product managers and engineers to build user-driven products.

Salary Range: $69,600 - $114,900

What You'll Do

  • Design user interfaces from wireframes to pixel perfect prototypes
  • Ensure the visual and interaction consistency of interfaces across all platforms by collaborating with engineers to build out and optimize a reusable component library
  • Learn and advocate for the voice of the user via frequent engagement with actual clients
  • Participate in and lead multiple types of user research sessions including discovery interviews, user acceptance & prototype testing, and focus groups
  • Synthesize user research data to create user journey maps, information architecture, interaction flows, and other design artifacts
  • Communicate and present to various stakeholders across the organization about design methods, choices, research findings, and more to foster a design culture within the company
  • Collaborate effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary delivery team including Product and Engineering teams to incorporate research results into products and services
  • Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction based on input from real-world customer experiences
  • Stay ahead of trends, participate in continuous learning, and share relevant learnings with the team
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Interaction, Graphic, UX Design, or a related field*
  • 3+ years of relevant experience delivering user experience product design
  • 3+ years’ experience with a variety of quantitative research methods (A/B test, usability test, JND test, Fitts' law, RITE methods, task analysis, etc.)
  • Highly skilled in both visual and experience design
  • Strong conceptualization ability and visual communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with both creative and technical teams to take projects from concept to execution
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interface design, user experience design, and user research skills
  • Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methods and collection and analysis tools
  • A strong working knowledge of software for designing and prototyping user interfaces and creating assets including Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated experience taking action to identify problems and act on opportunities to improve products and services
  • Ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent written, communication, and storytelling skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile work environment

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
