Temporary Employment

$30 - $70 per hour
12 hours a week/ 12 months a year
Sunday - Thursday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmΒ 

Position Duties

CLASS SUMMARY

Under general supervision of an academic employee or administrator, a Trainer is an Adult Temporary employee of the district as defined by Education Code section 88003.Β A Trainer is not an academic employee or a faculty member but is an at will employee who provides various professional services in non-academic contract educational fee-based programs.
Β REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Β 
Provide various professional services including presentations in non-academic, fee-per-service, and contract educational programs. In addition to developing and presenting specific programs to participants, the position may also assist in registering participants, collecting fees, advertising and developing authorized contract, and non-academic educational training programs.

Other representative duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of Front-End Needs
  • Assessment of Career Interest, Skills and Competency.
  • Literacy Audit
  • Evaluation and Measurement of Impact
  • Development of Training Materials
  • Computer-Aided training

Qualification

ABILITY TO:

Ability to develop and make effective professional presentations to participants in the contract educational programs; demonstrate knowledge of assessment and training; engage participants through a variety of training strategies; and establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a keyboard.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Β 
Expertise, experience, and specialized knowledge in defined areas of contract educational training program needs; the ability to develop and make effective professional presentations to participants at community services programs; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with representatives in diverse fields and from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds; exhibit leadership in management and planning; perform consistently under the pressure of group presentations and deadlines.

Compensation is based on professional and industry certifications, experience, and/or education.
