Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business sales through a hunter mentality and a consultative sales approach. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in transportation brokerage and new business development experience, with a keen ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities in the transportation industry. This position includes a competitive salary and bonus plan with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match. 

Job Details

What to expect as a Business Development Manager:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to identify, target, and acquire new clients within the transportation industry.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends and potential clients, developing tailored sales strategies.
  • Build and nurture a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
  • Employ a consultative sales approach to understand client needs, address pain points, and effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations that differentiate our services.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure profitable business partnerships.
  • Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, manage leads, and analyze sales performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
  • Consistently exceed sales quotas and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the transportation brokerage industry with a deep understanding of the logistics landscape.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful new business development experience with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a passion for prospecting and generating new business.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
