Responsibilities






Β 

The Director of External Financial Reporting performs a significant role within the Company, charged with oversight of the Company’s public filings with the SEC as well as reporting to the Federal Reserve. This position will direct a team and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Legal Officer and disclosure counsel to ensure timely, accurate and fulsome disclosure in quarterly SEC filings. This individual will oversee the timely and accurate reporting of the bank call report (FFIEC 041), the FR Y-9C and FR Y-9LP. The Director of External Financial Reporting will be a strategic thinker, well-versed in SEC/regulatory reporting requirements, and be capable of managing both internal staff and external resources to ensure proper reporting, planning and execution. The individual will create functional strategies and specific objectives and develops policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Compliance with all regulations and training requirements will be paramount in this role, ensuring the Company meets and exceeds all necessary standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of Public Filings: Manage the preparation and submission of the Company’s public filings with the SEC, including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and other relevant reports. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Federal Reserve Reporting: Oversee the timely and accurate reporting of bank call reports (FFIEC 041), FR Y-9C, and FR Y-9LP to the Federal Reserve.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and lead a team responsible for regulatory reporting. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CFO, CAO, CLO, and disclosure counsel to align reporting efforts with overall business strategy and financial goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop functional strategies and specific objectives related to regulatory reporting. Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Policy Development: Create and maintain policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory guidelines.
  • Risk Management: Mitigate risks associated with reporting inaccuracies or non-compliance. Implement controls to safeguard data integrity. Support the review process conducted by oversight functions such as internal and external audit.
  • Training and Compliance: Ensure staff members receive necessary training on reporting requirements. Foster a culture of compliance within the team.
  • External Relationships: Manage relationships with external auditors, internal auditors, risk management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders involved in reporting processes.








Qualifications






Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and solid understanding of principles of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of FFIEC 041, FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP reporting requirements.
  • 8 years of progressive management responsibility with specific experience for regulatory reporting in Β a public accounting firm or a large publicly traded company.
  • Experience with leading a team, with a track record of identifying potential in candidates and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships and communicate effectively with executive and senior management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with no supervision; manages time for high productivity and allocates resources to match production needs.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner.

  • A Master’s in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
